Lisa Vann
Sellers Ivey
May 1, 1968 — June 17, 2026
Lisa Vann Sellers Ivey, 58, of Smyrna, North Carolina, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Lisa's service arrangements will be shared once finalized.
Lisa was born on May 1, 1968, in Morehead City, North Carolina, to Philip Van Sellers and Wendy Thomas Sellers. Following her graduation from East Carteret High School, Lisa pursued several diverse career paths, but her true life’s passion was being a devoted mother and, later, a doting grandmother. Lisa was at her absolute best in a welcoming home—even one in slight, comfortable disarray—surrounded by her children and her most sentimental belongings.
With a deep and boundless love for animals, Lisa kept a constant parade of pets, beautifully squeezing dogs, cats, horses, chickens, pigs, and the occasional donkey into her life. She deeply loved the outdoors and the beach, introducing her sons to swimming, surfing, and all things salty early in their lives.
What truly set Lisa apart was her incredible beauty, her distinct sense of style, and her innate grace. She was strong-willed, occasionally stubborn, wonderfully quirky, and deeply imaginative. Beneath it all was a heart of gold and a fierce, protective love for her family. Lisa possessed an uncanny ability to create fun experiences, leaving her children and grandchildren with a lifetime of wonderful memories. She was a true persona chameleon; she could pull off appearing as a glamorous movie star in a broad-brimmed hat one day, a free-spirited '70s hippie the next, or a boot-kicking cowgirl by the weekend. Describing her vibrant spirit would be as difficult as explaining a shooting star to a blind person.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert Thomas Henry (Kameron), Braxton Henry (Ashley), and Forbes Henry (Taylor), all of Beaufort, NC; her mother, Wendy Thomas Davis (Andy) of Morehead City, NC; her father, Philip “Van” Sellers (Catherine) of Straits, NC; and her sisters, Dawn Davis Waddell (Randy) of Havelock, NC, and Jodi Davis Taylor (Scott) of Sea Gate, NC. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Paisley June Simpson, Barrett Bradshaw Henry, Rylee Thomas Henry, and Magellan Van Henry.
Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin ‘Skip’ Bradshaw; her paternal grandparents, Robert Andrews Sellers, Sr. and Maude West Sellers of Smyrna, with whom much of her childhood was spent; and her maternal grandparents, William Murray Thomas and Mildred Forbes Thomas.
Expressions of sympathy are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Smyrna United Methodist Church located at P.O Box 156 Marshallberg NC, 28553.
