Linwood Alan Calhoun

Linwood Alan Calhoun, 65, of Newport, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center.

A memorial service to be held by the family at the home at 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

He enjoyed Civil War reenactments with the 5th Regiment where he would participate in several different States. He had a passion for the automotive industry and was a first-rate auto mechanic. To know him was to love him. He was a loyal and loving husband, father, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Calhoun; daughter, Stephanie O’Neil and husband Lane O’Neil of Williston, ND; son, Jonathan B. Hoggard and companion, Amanda Grimes of Tunis, NC; sister, Terry Mason and husband Craig Mason of Roanoke Rapids; brother, Dennis Calhoun and wife Ann Calhoun of Roanoke Rapids; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Frances Calhoun.
