Linda Hevner

August 16, 1948 — February 27, 2024

Beaufort

Linda Hevner, 75, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 26, 2024, after a long battle with Cancer. 

Linda is survived by her husband, Ray, and two sons, Joseph Hevner and his wife A.J. Ericson of Nehalem, Oregon and St. Georges, Grenada and Joshua Hevner of Memphis, New York. Josh and his wife Kate have two children, Johanna and Sienna.

Linda lived a full and exciting life with travels to Europe, Australia along with camping twice across the country with Ray and their English Spring Spaniel Brisco and living on a boat for 12 Summers on the St. Lawrence River in Upstate NY.  Linda had a great passion for living and had varied exciting careers including Executive director of the American Heart Association for Upstate NY. Her most fulfilling job was running a food pantry in a small upstate NY village feeding the folks most in need with food, hugs and an opportunity to share their story.

Linda was a 10-year member of Ann St. United Methodist Church where she was a Certified Lay Speaker preaching in many local United Methodist Churches with sermons that always touched the souls of all in attendance. She was active in many Church Circles and a leader in every activity or organization she was associated with. She was an active participant of the Church Choir and the Carolina East Singers based in Morehead City. Music was an important part of her life and with her talent and sweet smile brought a special magic to each performance. 

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday March 16th at 11:00 at Ann St. United Methodist Church in Beaufort, NC.
