Linda King Guthrie, 75, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Linda was born on September 8, 1950, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to the late Percy and Billion King.

Linda took great pride in her work in banking, where she enjoyed helping and assisting others throughout the years. She also loved the challenge of a good crossword puzzle and could often be found working to find the right answers. Above all, Linda treasured her time with her grandchildren.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Tim Guthrie and wife Stephanie Cannon of Newport, NC and William Edward Guthrie III and wife Angie of Hope Mills, NC; brothers, Elbert King and Thomas King and wife Betsy, all of Wake County, NC, and Sidney King and wife Kay of Rolesville, NC; sister-in-law, Judy King of Rolesville, NC; and grandchildren, Jimmy Guthrie, Kara Guthrie, Billy Guthrie, Tyler Guthrie, Jacob Guthrie and Emily Guthrie; and 1 precious great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Randy Scott Guthrie; sisters, Clara Medlin, Ida-Mae Raybon, Louise Perry, and Barbara Perry; brothers, Archie King and John King Sr.
