Tom was born on April 2, 1953, to the late Lenster Thomas Morton II and Virginia Garner Morton. He was a true adventurer at heart and was a local business owner of Morton Well Drilling. Tom found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Being on the open road with his son Tommy riding motorcycles or participating in boat races with his son, Jason, and grandson, Jackson. He also enjoyed being on the golf course perfecting his swing. Tom was an active rotary member and loved his church family and pastor.

Known for his humble nature, he was always willing to extend a helping hand to those in need. He volunteered at the local soup kitchen regularly. His acts of kindness touched the lives of many and left an enduring impact on the community.

Tom married his high school sweetheart, Sherrie and they raised a beautiful family, making lots of memories on the way. Tom's family was the center of his world, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his loved ones. He just made the world a better place and he will be deeply missed.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Sherrie of the home; sons, "Tommy" Lenster Thomas Morton IV of Beaufort, and Jason Patrick Morton (Lindsay Westbrook) of Morehead City; sisters, Rose Thompson (Dean), Teri Brown, and Judi Brady; brothers, David Morton and Craig Morton; grandchildren, Sara (mother Niki) and Jackson; nieces, Shana, Malina, Cassidy, Kaitlyn, Wendy, Kari, Rebecca, and Crystal; and nephews, Eric, Jacob, and Craig Jr.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Wendall "Tom" Bennett.
