Lenora "Kathy" Anthony

Lenora "Kathy" Anthony, 68, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, after battling a long illness.

Kathy was born on July 28, 1955, to the late Bernard “Sonny” Henry and Lenora Sachs Henry. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, she later made the move South to Newport, NC in 1996. Settling on the coast was a perfect fit for Kathy who loved spending time at the beach. She enjoyed music and was always ready to dance to a good tune. She loved going shopping and seeing what new items were available to buy. 

Kathy’s family often joked that she loved being in charge and wore the role of Boss with great pride. More than anything, Kathy loved her family and excelled in her role as a loving wife of 25 years, amazing mother, and proud grandmother. 

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Charles Spencer and Christopher Henry and wife Alex, all of Newport, NC; siblings, Doris and husband John, Janet and husband Calvin, and Dennis, all of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Tony, Miguel, Joey, Samantha, Miranda, and Charles; and 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her, beloved husband, Joseph Norman Anthony who passed in May of 2023; daughter, Tammy Spencer; and brother, James “Moe”.
