Lee Ivey, 90, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A celebration of life service to honor Lee will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 14th at First Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Jake Young.
Lee was born Feb. 13, 1933, to Charlie and Elsie Ivey of Graham, NC. A graduate of NC State University, Lee worked in sales and marketing for Burlington Glass Fabrics Company for 34 years. He owned and operated Ivey Associates, Inc. in Morehead City for 23 years, retiring in 2016.
A man of strong Christian faith, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder.
Lee is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Karen Loveday of Concord, NC; step-sons, Jeff (Silke) Hagen of Deisenhofen, Germany and Matt (Jennifer) Hagen of Morehead City; grandchildren, Barron (Heather) Gilchrist of Indian Trail, NC, Allison Shelor of Concord, NC, Luisa and Evelyn Hagen of Deisenhofen, Germany; great-grandchildren, Ivy and Autumn Shelor and Tanner and Hadley Gilchrist; nephews, Donnie (Cathy) Black of Pine Knoll Shores and Barry (Tracey) Black of Ocean Isle; and niece, Lisa (Ken) Bennett of Graham, NC; and many great nieces and nephews including Brian (Deja) Black of Morehead City; and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Allen Ivey, and sister, Jean Ivey Black.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Morehead City or to the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
