Larry “Kooch” Taylor, 79, of Atlantic, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at his daughter’s home.

A memorial service to honor Larry’s life will be held at a later date.

Kooch was born on August 31, 1944, in Morehead City, NC, to the late John K. Taylor and Carrie Guthrie Taylor. He proudly served in the United States Army, embodying the values of loyalty and integrity. His commitment to his country was seen through his die-hard support of Donald Trump and the “Make America Great Again” campaign.

Kooch’s love for classic rock, particularly the song "Brown Eyed Girl," always brought a smile to his face, showcasing his fondness for life's simple pleasures.

Later in life, Kooch time spent deer hunting in Long Bay with his hunting buddies, Joe Taylor, Kim Satler, and Johnny Freeman. They had many happy times together as seen in all the notches Kooch marked on his shotgun representing each victorious hunt.

More than anything, Kooch lived a life dedicated to those around him. He was a loving father who showed faithful dedication to his only child, Martina.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Martina Taylor of Atlantic, NC; brother, Robert Carroll Taylor (Faye Patterson) of Beaufort, NC; nieces and nephew, Teresa Garner of Newport, NC, Nicky Salter of Hatteras, NC, Wendy Hancock, and Robert Taylor Jr.
