Larry David Lafferty, 74, of Havelock, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center.
His memorial service, with full military honors, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock, officiated by Rev. Johnny Thompson. He will be laid to rest at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Larry was born on October 16, 1950, in Pax, West Virginia, to the late Larkin and Margie Lafferty. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he dedicated numerous years before retiring. Following his military career, he continued to serve his community as a respected instructor at Craven Community College.
A devoted husband of 54 years to his beloved wife, Anita, Larry was the foundation of his family. His commitment to their well-being and happiness shined in all he did. Larry loved life. He was happiest when he was out fishing, playing golf, tennis, and shooting his guns. Larry cherished the time he spent with his family, always supporting them and making them feel safe and loved. May his memory be a treasure to all who knew him.
Those left to treasure his memory are his loving wife, Anita of the home; brother, Michael Lafferty (Pam) of Sparta, NC; sister, Julie Pitt of Middlesboro, KY; and sister-in-law, Debbie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Lafferty.
