LaJoyce Smith O’Neal, 89, of Morehead City passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at her home.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Bayview Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Jack Mumford.
Joyce married Elbert Dozer O’Neal, Jr. in 1945. “Junior” was a Master Boat Builder and Morehead City Policeman. In later years, Joyce lived with her son Garland and his wife Nancy, where she enjoyed the company of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Smith and husband William of Salter Path, Tammy Garner and husband Charles of Newport; son, Garland O’Neal, Sr. and wife Nancy of Morehead City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Dozer O’Neal, Jr.; parents, Denard Smith and Sallie Miller; brother, Garland Smith.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home.
