Kenneth "Kenny" Harris, 65, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 5, 2024.

Kenny was born on September 22, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Kenneth and Jeanette Harris. He and his family later moved to Swansboro, North Carolina where he attended Swansboro High School. He went on to work at Hankinson SPX for over 25 years.

Kenny’s true passion was hunting and other favorite pastimes included watching football, wrestling, and of course the Carolina Panthers. Kenny was a collector of guns and coins, always searching for new treasures to enrich his collection.

Kenny’s grandchildren were the apple of his eye and he loved them with all his heart. Kenny will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to all who knew him. 

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Luanne Harris; daughter, Jennifer Bennink (Neil) of Beaufort and Heather Marohn; brother, Steven Harris (Sue); grandchildren, Clint Bennink, Brie Bennink, Skye Marohn and Jason Marohn; nieces, Bridgette Harris and Jeanette Valenzuela (Jon); nephews, Karl Joshua Williams and David Zdrojewski; and great-niece, Sarah Valenzuela.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra Melgoza and Susan Sundy.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Pruitt Hospice, 810 Kennedy Ave., New Bern, NC 28560.
