Julian Francis Willis, 79, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Carolina Rivers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Manley B. Rose, Jr. officiating.

Julian was a 1952 graduate of Atlantic High School. He was a 1961 graduate of East Carolina College, after serving four years in the US Air Force. He retired as a teacher from the Camp Lejeune Dependent School System.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Stanley Willis of Jacksonville; a daughter, Melanie Carol Willis and husband Arturo Perez-Canto of Clayton, NC; a son, David Sean Willis of Red Springs, NC; and a sister, Mildred Willis Gilgo of Atlantic, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Glennie Fulcher  Willis, and a brother Manly Rogers "Buddy" Willis.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 930-B Wellness Dr. Greenville, NC 27834 or the American Heart Association Memorial Processing Center PO Box 5216 Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
