Joyce Merrell

Joyce Merrell, 71, of Morehead City, died Monday, September 28, 2009, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Joy had a love for life, family and the ocean. She had a great sense of humor and a fantastic laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her well.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
She is survived by two sons, Gerald Merrell of Wilmington and Redmond Merrell of Virginia; two sisters, Iris Yeomans and Rose Smith, both of Morehead City; her companion, Jerry Jones of Morehead City; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Redmond A. Merrell and a son, Donald Godwin and a grandson, John Mark Merrell.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
