Jonathan Matthew Cleve, 38, of Newport, NC, passed away on November 23, 2023

A memorial service to honor Jonathan’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 16^th at Munden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Immediately following the service there will be a celebration of his life at Shipwrecks Bar & Grill in Morehead City.

Jonathan was born on April 1, 1985, in New Bern, North Carolina. He was a graduate of West Carteret High School with the Class of 2003. Jonathan continued his education, earning an associate degree from Pitt Community College, where he graduated with honors. Jonathan's career as a Support Specialist in the pharmacy industry was an asset to the numerous people he assisted.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jonathan was happiest in the great outdoors. He had an undeniable passion for hunting, camping, and shooting. Fishing, boating, and the freedom and relaxation of being on the water were certainly happy times.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his mother, Candace “Candy” Cleve of Morehead; sister, Casey Stone and husband David of Morehead City; uncle, John Frank Williams of Greenville; special niece and nephew, Leah Stone and Noah Harrell; and girlfriend, Bridgette.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Frankie McCoy Cleve.

Jonathan was a remarkable individual who brightened the lives of all those fortunate enough to know him. His genuine warmth, infectious smile, and caring nature will be deeply missed.
