Irene Corbett Pringle

Irene Corbett Pringle, 86, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Irene was born on January 12, 1939, in Snow Hill, NC, to the late Leamon “Rock” and Beulah Corbett. Her family later moved to Newport, NC where she grew up and spent the majority of her life. After graduating from high school, Irene shared her love of learning with numerous students in our area through her career as a substitute teacher.

Irene loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Newport Church of Christ. She always appreciated music particularly enjoying gospel hymns and memorable Broadway hits.

In her free time, Irene enjoyed doing crafts including capturing memories with scrap booking. She also enjoyed sewing and creating beautiful pieces of needlework. Known for her culinary talents, she lovingly prepared delicious meals for her family and friends.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gabriell Pringle of Robbinsville, NC; son, Charles Pringle of Newport, NC; sisters, Rose Clapsadl (Danny) of Newport, NC and Jene Rhue of Richlands, NC; brother, Edward Corbett of Newport, NC; sister-in-law, Rebecca Brantley of Zebulon, NC; grandchildren, Skye Corbett and Wyatt Rock Corbett, both of Bryson City, NC; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Thornton “TL” Pringle; daughter, Tamara Lynette Pringle; and brothers, Patrick Corbett and JL Corbett.
