John Franklin Lilly, 91, of Newport, died Thursday July 19, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at St. james United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Supplee officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
John was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, and a member of Newport Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, and he served in the US Army,
He is survived by wife Ruth E. Lilly of the home: daughter Susan L. Smith of Newport: two sons James F. Lilly of Morehead City, and Don A. Lilly of Newport: sister Elizabeth Deslauriers of Chicopee, MA: three grandchildren: and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Clara Lilly.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made St. James United Methodist Church PO Box 250 Newport, NC 28570.
