Jessica Michelle Young

Jessica Michelle Young, 39, of Clayton, passed away on April 20, 2023, at Wake Medical Center.

Her memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2023, at Encounter 61 Church, 8201 Emerald Drive in Emerald Isle.

Jessica was born on March 10, 1984, in Raleigh, NC to Michael Karr and Christine Starr.

She is survived by her daughters, Kayla Roberts and Ryley Young, both of the home; mother, Christine Starr of Emerald Isle; sister, Shannon Hilburn of Lexington, KY; brother, Michael Karr and wife Katie of Virginia Beach, VA; niece, Maila Karr; and nephews, Garrett Rogers, James Narusewicz, and R. J. Poche.

She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Karr; step-father, Ret. CMC Scott Starr who passed away 15 years ago; maternal grandmother, Kunie "Jackie" Powers; and uncle, Steven Kirkman.
