IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jennifer Long
Peppersack
July 29, 1950 – March 10, 2026
Jennifer Long Peppersack, 75, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Carteret Health Care.
Jennifer was born on July 29, 1950, in Carteret County, North Carolina, to the late Ernest Edward Long and Thelma Audrey Salter. From the very beginning, she carried with her a warm spirit and a love for caring for others that would shape the rest of her life.
She found her calling in nursing and truly loved her career in home health. For Jennifer, it was never just a job, it was a way to serve people during times when kindness and compassion mattered most. She had a gentle presence that brought comfort to the many patients and families whose lives she touched.
Living near the coast, Jennifer always had a deep love for the ocean. The water and salt air brought her joy and a sense of home. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially horses and dolphins, whose beauty and spirit she admired.
Jennifer was wonderfully creative and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and making beautiful latch hook rugs. Her hands were rarely still, and the things she made were often shared with those she loved.
Above all else, Jennifer was a proud and devoted grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment she spent with them.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Stephanie Barnett (Zachary) of Wendell, NC and Jennifer Day of Morehead City, NC; son, Howard Day of Morehead City, NC; sister, Carol Golden; half-sisters, Sabra Ambrose, Myra Long and Darnell Long; brother, Joe Gioielli; and grandchildren, Riley Barnett, Kyrie Barnett, Corey Barnett, and Justin Day.
In addition to her parents, Jennifer was preceded in death by her son, Micah D. Bruns.
