Janet Crabtree Ferguson, 89, of Cedar Point, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Home Place of New Bern.
A graveside service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19th at Gethsemane Memorial Park in Newport, officiated by Rev. Ben Burrows. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Janet was born on September 12, 1935, in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late Preston and Frances Crabtree. Throughout her teaching career, she shared her passion for learning with countless students.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bridge, actively participating in two different Bridge Clubs. Janet always kept active and enjoyed a competitive game of tennis or a fun round of golf. Living on the coast was a perfect fit for her love of the water and the beach.
Janet and her husband Frank were blessed to be able to spend their retirement years traveling all over the world, including Russia, Turkey, Italy, and England. Upon moving to the Crystal Coast, they were faithful members of Cape Carteret Presbyterian Church.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Kenneth Ferguson and wife Cynthia of New Bern and Jason Ferguson of New Bern; and grandchildren, Kathryn Ferguson, Carter Ferguson, and Suzannah Ferguson.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Ferguson who passed away in 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cape Carteret Presbyterian Church at 100 Yaupon Dr., Cape Carteret, NC 28584.
