Chaplain Jamie Rossi, 54, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A memorial service to celebrate Jamie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 29th, at the Mill Creek Fire Department. In honor of Jamie's vibrant life, the family kindly requests that attendees wear bright colors, reflecting the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
Born on October 19, 1970, in Redwood, California, Jamie was a beautiful Christian woman whose love for the Lord was the anchor and strength of her life. A well-known leader in our community, Jamie faithfully coordinated the Community Bible Study. As Chaplain of the Mill Creek Fire Department, Jamie provided comfort and wisdom to numerous families, who she blessed with her words of wisdom and the peace she shared with them. Jamie’s heart overflowed with her worship and through sharing her knowledge and love for Lord through preaching and teaching His Word.
In her free time, Jamie kept busy building beautiful and intricate dolls houses, she loved solving puzzles, singing, and working in her garden.
Jamie was a cherished wife for 19 years and she embraced her role as a nurturing mother and remarkable mother, affectionately recognized as the "Best Mom" by her family. Jamie was lovingly known as “Monga” to her beloved grandchildren, she was a supportive sister and a loving aunt to her family which were always close to her heart.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Geno Rossi; daughters, Jessica Rossi of Raleigh, Haley Harkins (Kevin Williams) of Concord, Shelby Harvey of Beaufort, and Jordon Lilly of Newport; father, Leon Curley of Antioch, CA; mother, Patricia Montz of Munford, TN; sisters, Hope Carnes (Timothy) of Fallon, NV and Judy Ziebarth (Michael) of Newport; brothers, Richard Hofmeister (Charlene) of Rio Vista, CA and Micheal Curley (Kim) of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Kendra O’Neal, Ryan Albert, Jade Albert, Kevin Williams, Josey McMillen, and Summer McMillen; nieces, Jessica, Nicole, Samantha, Rachel, and Heather; nephews, Patrick, James, Jonathon, Dennis and Andrew; and her sidekick, her dog, Rocko.
Jamie was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanna Rossi.
