James "Jimmy" Ray Ruggles

James "Jimmy" Ray Ruggles, 65, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 25th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Joseph Park. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Jimmy was born on October 16, 1958, in Cherry Point, North Carolina, to the late Edward and Ruth Ruggles. Throughout his life, James found joy in crafting intricate fishing lures, tending to his yard with meticulous care, and rooting for his favorite team, the Duke basketball squad. However, above all, his greatest joy came from being a father.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his companion, Eileen Hall; son, James Ruggles Jr. of Morehead City; and his furry friend, his dog Angel.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Ruggles and John Ruggles.
