James "Jamie" Howard Willis Jr., 43, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

A funeral service to honor Jamie's life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 1st at Munden Funeral Home officiated by Bob Lowery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Jamie was born on November 7, 1982, in Morehead City, North Carolina. He was a hardworking man who took pride in his work in construction.

Jamie was always busy and never one to sit still. He was creative and artistic, with many interests including skateboarding, playing pool, and riding his bike. He loved going to the beach, fishing, and listening to music, always with a favorite tune playing.

Jamie was known for his strength as well as his kindness. His family often joked that he could outdo his friends with kindness and his enemies with mischief.

More than anything, Jamie loved his family. He was especially close to those he loved and treasured the time he shared with them. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather. Jamie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his father, James Willis Sr. and wife Pamela of Newport, NC; mother, Linda Pingitore and husband Mark of Broad Creek, NC; daughters, Sierra Willis and husband Eric Sproule of Morehead City, NC and Kayci Willis of Bogue, NC; sister, Summer Willis and husband James Young of Havelock, NC; step-brother, Phillip Williams of Newport, NC; grandchildren, Keith "Kewi" Bayley and Alaric Sproule; and his sidekick, his dog, Bohdi.
