James Alton Brown
March 31, 1957 — October 14, 2015
James Alton Brown, 58, of Mill Creek, went home to be with The Lord surrounded by family, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Carteret Health Care.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Reece’s Chapel with Rev. James “Winkie” Chadwick and Pastor Shane Hardesty officiating.
James was a loving husband, beloved father, brother, grandpa, and friend to many. He was a long-time Commercial Fisherman, Long Shoreman, and an employee with the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries.
He is survived by his wife, Nola Faye Brown of Mill Creek; one son, Rev. Shane Hardesty and wife Lynn, two grandchildren, Hank and Hannah Hardesty of Brevard NC; one sister, Janet Chaplain and husband Math of Beaufort, NC; one brother, Larry Brown and wife Suzy of Dunkirk, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and John D. Brown of Mill Creek, NC; one brother, Wayne Brown of Willards MD.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Reece’s Chapel Baptist Church
