James Adams
August 17, 1939 — July 10, 2010
James M. Adams, Sr., 70, Adams Creek, died July 10, 2010.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Thursday at the Grover-Adams Cemetery on Great Neck Rd., with Mike Adams officiating.
He is survived by two daughters, Faye Carr and husband Keith of Hampton, VA and Lena Adams of Suffolk, VA; son, James Adams, Jr. of Hampton, VA; five stepchildren, Audrey, Bubba, Tony, Michelle, and Sean; four sisters, Rebecca Little of Adams Creek, Rita Faye Cummings of Stafford, VA, Mary Mears of Hampton, VA, and Eva Gillikin of Adams Creek; two brothers, Johnny Adams of Carrollton and Joe Adams of Adams Creek; grandchildren, Blanton, Shannon, Timmy, Shaun, Christopher, Troy Scott, Shayna, Elizabeth, Andrew, Tiernan, Cuyler, Bethany, and Morgan; and caregiver and friend, Liza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Lena Mae Adams, step-daughter, Amber DeVarona, three sisters, Emily Geisler, Gwen Bowser, and Claire Parkins; and three brothers, Billy Adams, Earnest Ray Adams, and Frank Adams.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
