Ian Andrew Glennon, 33, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, following a courageous battle with colon cancer, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, with his loved ones by his side.
A funeral mass to honor Ian’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 30th at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, with Rev. Thomas Davis presiding. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park in Newport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Ian was born on September 7, 1992, in Morehead City, NC, to Timothy and Eva Glennon. Ian developed a deep appreciation for learning, especially a passion for history. He took great interest in the stories and heritage of North Carolina and Carteret County.
Ian was a private person who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and had a wide range of interests. He loved sailboats and spending time in Bogue Sound, and he especially enjoyed flounder gigging. Music was an important part of his life, he loved playing guitar and attending concerts at Fort Macon, where even a stop at the snack stand became part of the experience. He had a fondness for a good cheeseburger, along with sweets and candy. Ian never missed a chance to celebrate holidays, the Beaufort Pirate Invasion being his favorite when he always enjoyed dressing up and having fun. Ian also appreciated a good film, especially the excitement of a classic Western.
Above all, Ian loved the Lord, and his faith was the foundation and strength of his life. He was blessed to share eleven years with his beloved wife, Holly. Together, they were blessed with two beautiful children who meant everything to him. Nothing brought Ian greater joy than spending time with his family, whom he loved deeply.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are wife, Holly O’Hara Henderson and their children, Zane Grey Glennon and John Wayne Glennon; his parents, Tim and Eva Glennon of Morehead City, NC; sister, Hannah Glennon (fiancé Michael) of Roanoke, VA; brothers, Luke Glennon (Natalia) of Smyrna, NC, Timmy Glennon (Dani) of Beaufort, NC, and Blaise Glennon of Morehead City, NC; nephew, Decklan; along with numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made in memory of Ian to Annunciation Catholic School, 246 E Main St., Havelock, NC 28532.
