Hyacinth Rice
January 23, 1927 — July 4, 2016
Hyacinth Virginia Rice, 89, of Newport, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Reece’s Chapel with Rev. Winky and Rev. Dennis Evens officiating. Interment to follow at Bayview Cemetery.
Hyacinth is survived by her son, R.L. Rice and wife Kay; grandchildren, Melissa Brameyer and husband Jan, Robert “Lee” Rice III and wife Ann, Franklin Rice and wife Ginny, Chris Rice and Daniel Rice Jr., all of Newport; great grandchildren, Abbi, Matt, Mandy, Eryn, Vicky, Neal, Brittany, Ally, Robert IV, Ian, Delaney, Kody and Mckenzie; great great grandchild Ayden Lee Hauser; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert “Mousey” Rice Sr.; son, Daniel F. Rice; parents, R.D. and Celess Barts; and brothers, Robert I. Barts and William L. Barts.
The family will welcome friends from 6:00 – 8:00 Friday, July 8, 2016 at Reece’s Chapel.
