Holly Funk Oswald

Holly Funk Oswald, 58, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House. 

Holly was born on December 20, 1965, in Rocky Mount, NC, to the late Paul and Shirley Funk. She attended First Methodist Church in Morehead City where she enjoyed her church family. Holly found joy in companionship and shared laughter with dear friends, always ready for a fun outing or long chat. She was happiest when she was at the beach where she enjoyed the peacefulness of the shore and soaking in the sun. Known for her nurturing spirit, Holly embraced her role as a loving mother and a proud grandmother.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mia Meadows Oswald and fiancé Casey Culpepper of Morehead City, NC, Macy Alexandria Sherman (David) of Caseyville, IL; sister, Kathy McKenna of Florida; brothers, William Bradford Scott of Swansboro, NC and Charles Funk of Florida; grandchild, Miles Sherman; and her sidekick, her dog, Millie.

The family will celebrate her life at a later date.
