Hobert Michael "Mike" Curtiss, of Cedar Point, North Carolina, passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 72.

Mike was born on January 19, 1954, to Hobie and Marjorie Curtiss, who both preceded him in death. He was a devoted son, father, brother, and friend who loved his family dearly and cherished the time he spent with the people he loved.

Mike was always upbeat and fun to be around. He had a natural way of bringing laughter wherever he went, often breaking the silence with a funny joke, a quick comment, or something that would have everyone around him laughing. His personality, humor, and ability to make people smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He also had a lifelong love for anything with a big engine and a nice paint job, but especially anything wearing an Oldsmobile emblem. Whether talking about cars, admiring them, or simply enjoying the sound of a good exhaust, it was one of the things that brought him great joy.

Mike is survived by his only son, Stephen Curtiss and his wife Malaysiah; his brothers, Johnnie Curtiss and Donnie Curtiss and his wife Dawn; along with extended family and many friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Though his passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, Mike's laughter, his jokes, his love for his family, and the memories he created with those around him will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Mike held firmly to his faith and his hope in the resurrection soon to come, looking forward to the day when he would see his loved ones again. Until that day, he will remain deeply loved!
