Hilliard "Bud" Manley Eure IV

Hilliard "Bud" Manley Eure IV, 68, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Born on August 17, 1957, at the old Morehead City Hospital, Bud grew up in the Promise Land area of Morehead City. Bud graduated from Duke University in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and he earned his CPA.

Well known for his unwavering enthusiasm for all things Duke, whether basketball or other sporting teams, Bud enjoyed the thrill of rooting for his favorite teams and for his spirited conversations about their games. His other interests included watching old movies on AMC or Turner Classic where he enjoyed the simple and stable times of years gone by. His passion for the outdoors was seen in the many happy days he spent sailing and fishing along the beautiful Crystal Coast.

Bud will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and great uncle who appreciated and loved his family dearly.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his father and step mother, Hilliard Manley Eure III and Margo Eure of Tampa, FL; sisters, Tracy E. Collins (Jim) and Heidi Eure, all of Greensboro, NC and April Stauber (John) of Raleigh, NC; brother, Glenn Eure (Amy) of Greensboro, NC; 1 niece; numerous nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Bud was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Swanson Eure and his brother, Matt Eure.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bud’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
