Herman E. Godwin
April 5, 1930 — February 27, 2018
Herman E. Godwin, 87, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his home.
His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home.
Herman proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict in 1951 where he received a Purple Heart. In later years, he was a member of the Anchor Masonic Lodge of Key West, Florida.
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Godwin of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Jessica Bruce and Heather Gaylor; and great- grandchildren, Zhoe Gaffney, Aidan Gaffney and Cordelia Bruce.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Godwin; daughter, Barbara Bittner; and parents, Fred and Mary Lou Godwin.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home.
