Heather Nicole Weiss, 49, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Her family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date.

Born on July 20, 1976, in Morehead City, Heather lived life on her own terms. She was strong-willed, stubborn in the best of ways, and unapologetically herself. Those closest to her knew her as headstrong and fiercely independent, yet full of a free spirit that couldn’t be contained. Heather didn’t just pass through life, she embraced it, choosing to live fully in each moment.

Heather found joy in the simple things, her favorite ‘80s classic rock tunes, a cold beer in hand, and the feeling of living for the day. Her presence was bold, her laughter genuine, and her spirit one that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Alex Weiss (Mikayla) of Newport, NC; father, Kenny Weiss (Penny) of Newport, NC; mother, Sarah Blunt of Newport, NC; brother, Joshua Kyle Weiss (Kassie) of Newport, NC; niece, Emma Weiss; grandson, James; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
