GySgt. Richard Michael Falk, USMC Retired

April 25, 1967 — February 10, 2023

GySgt. Richard Michael Falk, USMC, Retired, 55, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at his home.

His memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 18th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Pastor Jim Hendrix.

Richard was born on April 25, 1967, in Weirton, West Virginia, to the late Charles and Margaret Falk. Following high school, Richard honorably served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. During his last tour at MALS-14, Richard led Marines as the NCOIC of the Electronic Countermeasures shop and as the Avionics Operations Chief.

Richard was certainly a jack of all trades and wasn't afraid to tackle new projects which he completed with ease. He especially enjoyed woodworking, metal sculpturing, and working on classic trucks. He was a faithful member of Cherry Branch Community Church. The constant love and theme of his life were God, his family, and the Marine Corps. Richard was a loving husband of 35 years, dedicated father, and best "Pappy" to his granddaughter, Saylor, who he cherished dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doreen Falk of the home; daughter, Kayla Falk of Morehead City; son, Aric Falk and wife Britney of Havelock; mother, Joni Falk of Hookstown, PA; sisters, Rae Roach of Chester, WV and Alison Falk of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Charles Falk and wife Beth of Wake Forest, NC, Robert Falk and wife Liz of Weirton, WV, and Shawn Falk and wife Paula of New Manchester, WV; and precious granddaughter, Saylor.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville, NC 27834; his granddaughter's college fund "Saylor Falk" through the Navy Federal Credit Union; or Cherry Branch Community Church, 1490 Ferry Rd., Havelock, NC 28532.
