Genevieve, lovingly known as Ginny, was born on March 7, 1934, in The Promise Land of Morehead City, NC, to the late Lawrence “Frank” and Samantha Guthrie Tuten.

Ginny's life was one fueled by adventure and love. She met her partner in life, her U.S. Navy husband, at the local USO. Their connection blossomed amidst their laughter and love of dancing at the Old Idle Hour. Together, they embarked on a journey marked by the Navy's constant call, taking them across the United States and overseas.

After a life well-lived, Ginny retired from the Marine Corps Exchange at Cherry Point. She left a lasting impact on her colleagues through her dedication and kindness to others.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters, Donna Youraine and husband Kent Neal of Morehead City and Jeanette Youraine of Newport; grandson, Del Creech of Morehead City; great-grandchildren, Jesse Del Creech and wife Christina, Creedance Creech, Taylor Creech, and Logan Creech; great-great granddaughter, Alana Inabnitt; and loving nieces and nephews, Cleo McCabe Humphrey and husband Lyndon, Mark Tuten, Laura Raville, and Ron Raville.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Jim Youraine, who passed away in 2010; her sister, Freda McCabe; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Kathryn Tuten, and Tommy and Ruth Tuten.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to PAWS of Carteret County, 5042 Mattie St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
