George Fischer Viereck

George Fischer Viereck, a beloved teacher and coach, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, at the age of 83.

A celebration of George's life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2025, at First Methodist Church in Morehead City. He will be interred in the church columbarium.

George was born on March 21, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late George Edwin and Elizabeth Fredonia Viereck. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts degree from George Washington University.

George is survived by his daughter, Amanda, as well as many friends and former students and athletes.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Judy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Broad Street Clinic, or Martha's Mission.
