George Joseph Francis II

George Joseph Francis II, 23, of Newport, N.C., passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at his home.

A Funeral Service to honor George’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Munden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

George was born on February 19, 2002, in Morehead City, to the late Mark Francis and his mother Jennifer Harrelson. He loved working with his hands, whether he was under the hood of a car or building something from the ground up, he took pride in every project. George enjoyed being on the water with a fishing rod in hand whenever he had time off.

A devoted family man, his greatest joy in life was being a father. His children were his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. George liked to kick back watching a good baseball game, cheering on his favorite team. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his fiancée, Paige Reid of Newport, N.C.; mother, Jennifer Harrelson of Newport, N.C.; sons, George Joseph Francis III, Greyson Scott Francis, Gunnar Salter Francis all of Newport; brother, Mark Francis Jr. (Hannah Peele) and son, Mark Francis III of Salter Path, N.C.; grandmother, Susan Jones of Newport, N.C.; uncles, Brett Jones (Mikayla) of Newport, N.C., Antonio Weatherington of Newport, N.C.; several cousins and extended family.

George was preceded in death by his father, Mark Francis.
