Gary “Bubba” Lee Neal Jr., 51, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.

A graveside service to honor Gary’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 3rd at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Born on August 27, 1973, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Gary was the son of the late Gary and Bonnie Neal. He built a successful career as a skilled technician and installer in the heating and air industry. Known for his skills with repairs, his expertise also extended to working on older model cars, which was a hobby he thoroughly enjoyed.

An avid sports fan, Gary was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also enjoyed hockey and always kept close tabs on his favorite teams. Gary appreciated a good home cooked meal and always had a soft spot for animals.

Always a jokester, Gary loved to have fun and make people laugh. Often acting like a goofball, Gary knew how to lighten your mood and brighten your day. His warm, friendly nature allowed him to connect with everyone he met, and his kindness was reflected in the countless acts of generosity he showed to those in need. Above all, Gary loved his family and valued his time with them.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie Neal; daughters, Treasure Williams of New Bern, NC and Summer Williams of Jamestown, NC; son, Jimmy Williams Jr. of Beaufort, NC; twin sister, Melissa Minerd (William) of Brownsville, PA; step-sisters, April McCoy of Westland, PA and Deana Schmitt of Canonsburg, PA; step-mother, Sandra Emerick of Washington, PA; granddaughter, Emma Stephenson; nieces and nephew, Baily Minerd, Alissa Minerd, and Ryan Minerd; along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Mission, 1410 Bridges St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
