Frances W. Baugh

Frances W. Baugh, 83, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Carteret Landing.

A funeral service to honor Frances' life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 6th at First Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Powell Osteen. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 5th at Munden Funeral Home. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home's website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Frances was born on January 23, 1940, to the late George and Bennie Willis. Born and raised in Beaufort, NC, Frances graduated from Beaufort High School with the Class of 1958. In June of 1960, she married the love of her life, Tray Baugh Jr., and they settled in Morehead City.

Frances found great joy in serving her community. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church in Morehead City, where her faith was a guiding force in her life. She also dedicated her time to the Board of the Ekklesia as well the Salvation Army, contributing to the well-being of those in need. As a member of the women's sorority Beta Sigma Phi, Frances cherished the friendship and camaraderie shared with her fellow sisters.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gina Sanderson and Shanon Harris and husband Gray, all of Morehead City; son, Arthur "Tracy" Baugh III of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jessica Harris of Morehead City, Spencer Sanderson and wife Morgan, and Sam Sanderson and wife Ansley, all of Bogue; great-grandson, Luke Sanderson; and a great-granddaughter on the way; brother-in-law, Lee Jones of Beaufort; niece, Georgia Jones of Beaufort; and nephew, Jason Jones of Stem.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Tray" Baugh Jr. in 2017; sister, Geri Jones; brother, Thomas Willis; and grandson, Darious Sanderson.
