Ernest Brown, 78, of Newport, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Gethsemane Memorial Park with the Rev. Ray Conner officiating.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy L. Brown of the home; daughter, Patty Sue Brown; son, Dewayne Brown of Newport; brother, Kenneth Bernice Brown of Newport; six granddaughters, one grandson, three great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Brown, two sisters, and three brothers.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
