Elaine J. Jones, 94, peacefully passed away at her home in Morehead City, NC, on April 20, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

A graveside service to honor Elaine’s life, 12 p.m., Saturday, May 16th at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, NC.

Elaine was born on December 8, 1931, in Johnston County, NC, to the late Beulah Pollard Jones and Willis Jasper Jones. She made her home in Morehead City for the past 44 years, having previously lived in Raleigh.

Elaine graduated from Garner High School in 1950. She proudly worked for the Federal Government as Personnel Services Officer for 30 years, retiring from the Department of the Navy, Cherry Point, in August 1987.

Elaine loved her family and her very large circle of friends. She left a joyful impression on everyone whose life she touched. She loved the Lord and her church family at First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City where she was a member for many years.

Those remaining include her precious children, Randy E. Jones (Will Grega), Neil S. Jones (Ruth), and Diane J. Jenkins; grandchildren, Alaina, Noah, and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Marli and Khloe; her 2 cherished sisters-in-law who she considered sisters, Carolyn Richards and Janet Wall; and many special cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her loving husband whom she was married to for 54 years, Donald E. Jones; sisters, Betsy J. Drake, Lianne J. Keeney, and Jean J. Moore; brothers-in-law, Don Keeney and Jerry C. Moore; baby brother, Steve Jones; and son-in-law, Lamont M. Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine's memory to First Presbyterian Church, 1604 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
