Ebner Boatwright, 88, of Havelock, NC died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Cherry Point Bay.
A graveside service will be held 12:00 noon Friday at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with Rev. Clyde Eborn officiating.
Mr. Boatwright retired from the United States Coast Guard in October 1969 as a Senior Master Chief E8.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Lanette Boatwright of Concord, NC; daughter, Carole Lee Almond and husband Hoye of Mt. Pleasant, NC; sons, Larry Allen Boatwright and wife Donna of Havelock, NC and Scott N. Boatwright and wife Vicky of Macon, GA; brother, OV Boatwright of Lakeland, FL; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Gillis Fletcher Boatwright, Floyd Luther Boatwright, Ivan John Boatwright, and Earl Willis Boatwright; and sister, Jewell Jeanette Boatwright.
