Durward Gillikin, Sr., 66, of Harkers Island, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Harkers Island Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Robert Parnell Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Chadwick Family Cemetery.
Durward was a deacon at Harkers Island Pentecostal Church. He was a commercial fisherman, who loved being on the water.
He is survived by his wife Sherlie Gillikin, of the home; son, Durward Gillikin, Jr. and wife Valerie of Harkers Island; three brothers, Ronnie Gillikin of Otway, Clifford Rex Gillikin of Williston, and Timothy Gillikin of Otway; also two grandchidren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Bethine Gillikin.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at the church, and other times at the home of his son, Durward Gillikin, Jr., 510 Bayview Dr., in Harkers Island.
