Dr. Kent Swindell Denton Sr., 83, of Atlantic Beach, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Duke University Hospital.

A memorial service to honor Dr. Denton’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 23rd at First Methodist Church in Morehead City, officiated by Rev. Sarah Williams. Inurnment will follow at the church columbarium. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Atrium. For those unable to attend, the memorial service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website.
