Jean Ball Adams

Jean Ball Adams, 90, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

A graveside service to honor Jean's life will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 20, at Carteret Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Rusty Willis.

Jean was born on July 18, 1933, in Morehead City, NC, to the late James Raymond and Ruth Garner Ball. Jean grew up on the family farm in Harlowe, NC. She married Thomas Adams in 1953 and they welcomed a son, Ray, in 1956. Together they built a home on Circle Dr. in Beaufort, and they became part of a very close-knit neighborhood. 

Jean was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She loved cooking and entertaining friends and family, boat riding, camping, playing cards, and her furry friends.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 70 years, Thomas Adams of the home; nieces, Ann Hollister and Kathy Lewis of Newport; cousins, Paula Smith of Beaufort, and Rick Smith of Wake Forest; special friends, Jerry and Denise Jackson, Steve and Anna Stanley; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Thomas Adams; special friend, Pauline Smith; and her furry friends, Black Jack, Carlos, Sudie, Kelly and Holly.

A special thank you to all of Jean's caregivers, Charmain, Effie, Ashley, Elizabeth, and Matilda.
