Dominick John Fico, 87, of New Bern, North Carolina, formerly of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, passed away on July 4, 2026.

A memorial service to honor Dom’s life will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, July 26th at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock, all are welcome to attend. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens in Havelock.

Dom was born on August 8, 1938, in Florham Park, New Jersey, to the late Anne and Ralph Fico. He graduated from Bayley-Ellard High School. Dom married Anita in 1959 and together they shared 48 years.

In his early 20's, Dom was employed by Automatic Switch Co. (ASCO) as a draftsman and eventually became a drafting manager. He retired from ASCO in the late 90s.

Outside of work, Dom enjoyed traveling, golf, and piloting small aircraft. He was known for his generosity and his drive to take care of people.

Dom is survived by his son John and daughter Maria Dorn, along with their spouses Gillian and Kevin respectively, and his two grandchildren Kyra and James. He also leaves behind a companion of 8 years, Wilma Lundt.

Dom was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his memory to Appalachia Service Project (asphome.org).
