Diana Gail Sparks Wells, born September 20, 1951, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
A funeral service to honor Gail’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 19th at Sea Level Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Terry McInnis. Interment will follow at Stacy Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Gail loved colorful clothes and the beauty of spring. In honor of her vibrant spirit, the family encourages those attending to wear spring colors.
Gail was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered on her faith in God and the deep love she had for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Louise Sparks, and her brothers, Danny Sparks and Leary Sparks.
In her early years, Gail attended school to become a lab technician. During that time, she met the love of her life, Mike. The two were married and shared 52 wonderful years together, building a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to family. Four years after their marriage, they welcomed their daughter, Crystal, who was the pride and joy of her life.
Gail found great happiness in the simple joys of life. She loved dancing, sewing and making clothes, cooking for those she loved, and spending time outdoors. As Crystal grew up, Gail was always present, faithfully attending band concerts, dance recitals, and every activity her daughter participated in, cheering her on with pride.
Above all else, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Wells; her daughter, Crystal Wells Howard and husband Shane; her grandchildren, Brianna Robinson and husband Keegan, and Madison Betts and husband Joseph; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Holden, Sutton, and Hallie. She is also survived by her nephew, Shannon Sparks and wife Millie.
The family would also like to express their gratitude for her devoted caretaker, Ms. Felicia, whose kindness and care meant so much.
Gail’s strong faith in God guided her life and brought comfort and strength to those around her. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the joy she brought to those who knew her.
