Dennis "Bob" Seymour, 85, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home.

There will be a gathering of family and friends, which will include military honors, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., on Thursday, December 21st at Munden Funeral Home.

Dennis, known to all as Bob, was born on October 27, 1938, in Hookerton, North Carolina, to the late Rebecca Seymour.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country, and exemplifying the true spirit of patriotism. Following his honorable service, Bob enjoyed a successful career at Dupont, where he diligently worked for 34 years.

Bob dedicated himself to his community as an active member of the Lions and Elks Club in Kinston. He valued the friendships he made through these organizations as well as the opportunities to give back and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Bob had a zest for life that was infectious. He had an innate love for beach music and dancing, lighting up any room with his infectious energy and enthusiasm. Known for his kind-hearted nature, Bob possessed a rare quality that endeared him to all who crossed his path. He never spoke ill of others, always extending a helping hand to those in need.

Family was of utmost importance to Bob, and his cherished memories include adventures in his RV alongside his grandchildren. They shared precious moments, exploring new destinations and forging memories that will forever be treasured. In his downtime, Bob could be found in his garage, where he often tinkered with his projects and pursued his hobbies.

One of Bob's most closely guarded secrets was his famous BBQ sauce recipe. Known for its mouthwatering flavor, friends and family would often ask for the secret behind his masterpiece. Bob would want everyone to know that the recipe is in safe hands.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carol Seymour; daughter, Wendy Seymour Prior and husband Eric of Winston-Salem; sister, Kitty Hatcher of Petersburg, VA; brother, Kelly Seymour of Atlantic Beach; grandchildren, Dawson Prior and George Prior of Winston-Salem; nephew, Dennis Hatcher (Kim); niece, Kelley Toler (Doug); and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Georgia McKelvey.
