Deborah L. Younce

Deborah L. Younce, 63, Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Carolina East Medical Center.

A candlelight service in Deborah’s memory will be held at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, January 18th at the Circle on Atlantic Beach.

Deborah was born on June 1, 1962, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Barbara Younce. She was a devoted woman who helped raise her nieces and nephews, treating them as her own. Her heart was big enough for everyone she encountered- family, friends, and even strangers who crossed her path. She had a special place in her heart for stray animals and could never turn away someone in need, whether they walked on two legs or four.

Deborah worked faithfully for over 30 years with the Town of Atlantic Beach, where she was known for her dedication and unmistakable personality. She was famously hardheaded, a trait that reflected her strength, determination, and commitment to what she believed was right. Everyone who knew her loved her. She left a lasting impression through her kindness, loyalty, and the countless lives she touched along the way.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sister, Teresa Culpepper of North Carolina; special nieces, Alexandria Gardner and Brandy Culpepper; nephews, Kolin J. Walley and John F. Walley; and her favorite cats, Oscar and Natasha.

In addition to her mother, Deborah was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim and Mark Younce.
