Dawn Rickerds Buchanan

Dawn Rickerds Buchanan, 61, of Stella, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Carolina East Medical Center.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Dawn's life will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, February 6th at Munden Funeral Home.

Dawn was born on April 12, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John and Gloria Rickerds. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, a calling she fulfilled through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Above all, Dawn was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a proud grandmother. She found her greatest joy in spending time with and caring for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 13 years, Stuart "Art" Buchanan Jr.; sons, Everett Clark (Melissa) of Peletier and Aaron Clark (Samantha) of Newport, NC; step-daughters, Allison Buchanan of Massachusetts, Amanda Buchanan of Lafayette, LA, and Amber Buchanan of Bridgeton, NC; step-son, Alex Buchanan of Jacksonville, NC; brothers, John Baxley and William Baxley (Betty), all of Raeford, NC; grandchildren, Eddie Clark, Brooklyn Clark, Magnolia Clark, Gunner Clark, and Lacey Clark; and her cuddly cat, Shelby.
