Dawn K Baxter

Dawn K Baxter, 68, of Havelock, NC, passed away on September 25, 2025.

Dawn was born to Joanne and Robert McMann on December 13, 1956, she had four siblings, Shelly, Sean, Erin, and Bethanne.

Dawn was a Navy Corpsman Veteran, a role she would speak of modestly but fondly reminisced. She was a dedicated military wife, and it was during her service in the Navy that she would meet her husband, Msgt. William Bennett Baxter, who predeceased her.

Perhaps her greatest pursuit was being a supportive mother and raising two children, Ashley and William. Dawn was a doting and loving grandmother to two grandchildren “her kiddos”, Hayley and Hunter.

Most of all, she was a fighter, overcoming many obstacles and a two-time cancer survivor. She loved to cook and share meals in good company, especially seafood and anything with fresh tomatoes. Dawn loved to travel, spending time near the ocean, good music, and old movies. Rest easy, mom, you will be sincerely missed!
