Cynthia Shaver Boyd, 69, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Carteret Health Care.

A graveside service to honor Cindy's life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 2nd at Cedar Grove Cemetery, officiated by John Smith. Following the service, the family will receive friends at 1260 Newport Loop Road in Newport.

Cindy was born on March 2, 1957, in Quantico, Virginia, to Earl and Joanne Shaver.

In 1980, Cindy married the love of her life, Billy. Together they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2024. Their life together was a beautiful example of love, devotion, and unwavering support. Side by side, they raised a family and ran a family business, East Carolina Builders, where Cindy faithfully managed the administrative and bookkeeping work for more than 30 years. Through their hard work and dedication, they created not only a successful business but a lifetime of cherished memories.

Cindy found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time in her garden, caring for animals, and gathering her family together, especially during the holidays, which she made extra special. She was an incredible cook, and her kitchen, affectionately known as "Cindy's Café" was a place of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable meals. Her specialty dishes were her delicious fried chicken and her amazing chicken and dumplings.

Above all else, Cindy's greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into caring for those she loved, always putting them first in everything she did. She was truly a blessing, she was kind, selfless, and full of grace and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Shannon Boyd Reichstein (Kiel) of Newport, NC; sons, Shawn Patrick Boyd (Jaclyn) and William Patrick Boyd III "Trey" (Ashley), all of Newport, NC; mother, Joanne Patsy Shaver of Newport, NC; brother, Michael Shaver (Hiedi) of Grove City, OH; grandchildren, Carson Boyd, Evelyn Boyd, and William Patrick Boyd IV; along with numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Billy" Boyd II and her father, Earl Shaver.
